What's New at TripLog - July 2026

This month’s updates include a range of improvements across several areas of TripLog, along with several helpful fixes and enhancements.

Business-Only Commute Deductions

Admins can now choose to apply commute deductions only to business trips.

When enabled, TripLog will deduct commute mileage from the first and last business trip of the day rather than the first and last trips overall.

This helps prevent personal trips taken before or after work from affecting commute deductions.

Supervisor Filtering for Heat Maps

Heat maps now include a Supervisor filter.

Admins can select a supervisor to view activity for the employees assigned to that supervisor, making it easier to review the locations and travel patterns of specific teams.

Improved Time Clock-Based Trip Classification

TripLog’s time clock-based auto-classification now better reflects your configured business and after-hours settings.

Trips recorded when an employee is clocked in will use their selected business-hours activity, rather than TripLog’s default “Business” activity.

Once an employee clocks out, new trips will use their configured after-hours activity, rather than automatically being classified under TripLog’s default “Personal” activity.

Other Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Updated the default IRS mileage rate used by TripLog to the current rate (as of 7/1/26) of $0.76 per mile.

  • Apple Pay is now available as a payment option when purchasing a TripLog subscription.

  • Fixed an issue where personal trips could still appear on the Driving Safety map when Hide Personal Data was enabled.

  • Added a clearer visual indicator showing which mileage tracking method is currently running in the TripLog app.
